Julie Anne Rheaume

Julie Anne is 16 years old and currently attends Ecole secondaire catholique Garneau in Orléans. She is a member of the volleyball and hockey team at her school. After graduation, Julie Anne plans on attending a US university on a softball scholarship. She will complete a four-year program, which will see her obtain her teacher and coach’s certification.

She has been playing ringette since the age of 6. She has played her entire career as a goaltender except for the first four or five games as a Novice player. She was very determined to be a goaltender and set her objective to the best of her age group. Her entire ringette experience has been with the Gloucester Ringette Association. Julie Anne expanded her ringette portfolio in the last three years by entering the coaching world. She has been helping develop younger goaltenders in her association.

She has competed at the highest level of competition in the Province for the last six years. She has participated at the Provincial Championships each of those six years. In the fall of 2001 she was selected to the Eastern Region team for competition at the Ontario Winter Games. With her Eastern Region teammates, they captured the Championship at the Ontario Winter Games in March 2002. She currently is a member of the Ontario team that will compete at the Canada Winter Games in Bathurst New Brunswick in February 2003.

Julie Anne spends her spare time with her friends. They enjoy roller blading, playing tennis and even getting a few games of golf on a nice sunny day. Julie Anne has a keen interest in the Ottawa Senators; she attends games when schedule permits.
