JENNA MCBRIDE

Jenna McBride is 17 years old and was born on April 4, 1895 in North York, Ontario. She currently attends Canterbury High School in Ottawa. She is in the arts program at her school in vocal. She is in grade 12 and hopes to go to University in two years. She is also hoping to spend two months traveling before she starts University. She is not sure what field she will pursue after high school, but it will probably be in math or science.

Jenna’s extra-curricular activities include music and sports. She plays on her school basketball, soccer, ultimate and hockey team. Last year was the first year her school had a girl’s hockey team, and they did fairly well, thanks in large part to their eight ringette players! Jenna has taken piano lessons for the last seven years and is in grade eight. This year she will be in two of her school choirs as well as taking private vocal lessons.

Jenna has been playing ringette for thirteen years and is currently on the Ottawa Belle "AA" Team. Her provincial record includes four gold and one bronze. She has also been to the Nationals and there has received two bronze medals. Last year she played for the Eastern "AAA" team and they won gold at the Ontario Winter Games. She has been coaching for four years and last year her petite "AA" team came second at provincials. It was a lot of the girls first year at provincials. Jenna is entering into her third year as a ref, and she hopes to find more time for it next year.
