DANA HALEY

Dana Leigh Haley is 18 years old and was born on June 6, 1984 at St. Mary’s hospital in Kitchener-Waterloo. She is the oldest of four children, two sisters and one brother. She presently lives in Ottawa (actually Manotick, a small town outside the city) and goes to St. mark Catholic High School.

Sports have always been a huge part of Dana’s life. For nine years ringette has ruled her winters. She has played for an assorted number of teams from Waterloo, to Sudbury, to Ottawa. The adaptations to different groups and new personalities have helped her mold a more flexible personality. Dana’s summers are filled with track and field, hurdles, and pole vaulting. She has placed 1^st and 2^nd at OFSAA (the all-Ontario high school meet) and 5^th at the Nationals.

On top of competitive sports, Dana has pushed her high school activities to the max. Playing basketball, volleyball, badminton, hockey and track, she has won athlete of the year three of her four years.

Ultimately, Dana would love to continue her athletics into University, and right now she believes she would like to pursue business. However, what is certain for now is her desire to have a terrific year with Team Ontario and hopefully bring home the gold.
