Timmins Tornadoes U19A – Team Ontario Wins Gold!

Team Ontario finished the round robin with a 4-1 record, tied for first with Nova Scotia. ‎Tie breaking rules saw NS get the bye, and Ontario had to play a semi final against Quebec. The Semi-final game was hard fought and teams were tied at 2 going into the final minutes of the game. Alexie Trudel found the back of the net and put Ontario ahead with 3 minutes remaining, and they were able to hang on for the win.
The Final was a rematch with Nova Scotia, the only team to give Timmins a loss in the Round Robin, and the team who beat this same Team O three years previous in the Easterns Final in Moncton, NB.
However this time Team O came out firing on all cylinders, scoring 10 seconds into the game when Veronique Gagne put a shot passed Emily Avery. This set the tone and Team Ontario continued the barrage to the end of the game. The final score being 7-2.
What a great end to a fantastic season!
